A Solid Vegetarian Spot with Room to Grow: Our first visit to Honest Restaurant in Charlotte was a largely positive one, offering a great array of vegetarian options. The Chhole Baturey truly stood out as the highlight – easily the best I've had in Charlotte so far, with perfectly authentic bread and flavorful chhole. The Rava Onion Masala Dosa was good, but I felt the amount of masala could have been more generous to match its price and size. Unfortunately, the Gobi Manchurian Dry was a bit of a miss; it was overly saucy and the cauliflower was chewy. On a brighter note, the Mango Falooda was refreshing and enjoyable. We did have a slight hiccup with the Veg Hakka Noodles, which arrived with chili flakes despite our request for low spice. However, the staff was quick to rectify this, and the replacement noodles were delicious. Service was excellent throughout our meal. Our server was attentive and helpful. The restaurant also boasts a good, airy ambiance. My only minor gripe would be the pacing of the dishes. It would be ideal for appetizers to be served as the first course. Overall, it was a good experience with plenty of delicious vegetarian choices. We'll definitely be back to explore more of their menu!

Honestly one of the best vegetarian restaurant. We liked most of their Thalis and other items. However I felt their Dosa taste changes every time. Also, their bathroom needs to be clean and odor free. Also, if possible install hand wash station outside to restrooms.

Wow, this place is fantastic, y’all! Don’t sleep on this place, because you will NOT leave hungry. Such a delicious variety of dishes and sauces to try…and they make their own pav and bread in house! So yummy, and the friendly staff are perfectly willing to help an newbie select something scrumptious :-) Had the Danang Dosa, and seriously…I would’ve licked the plate if I could’ve. Mango lassi was yummy and a perfect complement to all that delicious spiciness—if your lips aren’t tingling at the end of the meal, you’re not doing it right, folks! What a lovely find in the UC area, and I will be back with friends to keep working through this extensive menu

Honest Indian Restaurant – Great Spot for North Indian Street Food If you’re craving North Indian street food, this place is definitely worth checking out! They offer a wide and diverse menu — from traditional dishes to unique street food options. We ordered a mix of items including sandwiches, dosas, chole bhature, and pav bhaji, and everything was flavorful and satisfying. We visited on a Saturday evening, and it was pretty crowded, which speaks to the popularity of the place. The service was still efficient despite the crowd. If you enjoy Indian street-style dishes and want a good variety, Honest is a solid pick. Just be prepared for a wait during peak hours!

Visited for Father's Day with family. After a long time, I had a great experience at this restaurant. All the dishes we tried were delicious and couldn't praise enough about the delicious Sugarcane Juice. Reminded me my days back home. Keep up with the food quality and quantity.... Honest will do great in Charlotte.

Nestled at 8109 University City Blvd, this spot offers a welcoming, airy ambiance and attentive service, creating a comfortable space to explore a diverse menu rich with traditional street food and home-style favorites.

The true highlight here is the Chhole Bhature, praised by patrons for its perfectly fluffy, freshly made bread paired with a richly spiced, flavorful chhole that captures the essence of North Indian street food. It's a dish that clearly sets the tone for Honest’s commitment to authenticity and quality. Equally notable is their Rava Onion Masala Dosa, which delivers a thin, crispy crepe filled with spiced onions, though some feel the filling could be a bit more generous to justify its portion size and price.

Honest’s in-house baked pav and bread deserve special mention, elevating staples like Pav Bhaji and sandwiches with fresh textures and authentic taste. The Mango Falooda and Mango Lassi offer refreshing, sweet contrasts to the meal’s robust, spicy flavors—perfect for balancing the palate.

The restaurant shines with its robust variety, ranging from street-style favorites like Gobi Manchurian (though occasionally the texture can be inconsistent) to classic Thalis that showcase a spectrum of flavors and preparations. Expect to leave satisfied, with a plan to return and delve deeper into their extensive menu.
